Feeling Shell-less?

Feeling shell-less?
Imagine how a hermit crab feels, moving along the shore, naked.
Inching sideways, feeling for a new home. 🏡
Not just any home.
This new home has to fit.🐚
This hermit crab has grown.
Maybe it even wants a two bedroom with ocean views?☀️
We don’t know.
But if it watches as much HGTV as I do, it’s going to be picky.
So, it might have to spend some time feeling vulnerable.
Ducking and weaving at each squawk of a passing seagull.🐦
A client described this feeling of being shell-less this week.
She noticed a sense of awkwardness.
And a recognition that, “There’s a part of me I haven’t met yet—or don’t fully understand.”
She’s lived and worked inside one system her whole life, one way of being in the world with her gifts, skills, and talents.
And now she knows in her bones that shell no longer fits.
She’s not lost, however.
She’s discerning. She’s testing. She’s wandering on purpose.
She’s deeply curious and also confident.
She believes that this is exactly how she is supposed to feel.
A little scared, but also excited.
This is what growth looks like.
If you are feeling shell-less too this summer,⛱️ Imagine that you are not lost.
Just in an in-between time - going to lots of 🏡open houses 🏡 knowing you will find the one that is the perfect fit for who you are becoming now.
