Can you feel the heat?

The dreaded question:

“Hey First name / my friend, so . . . what are you working on these days?”

 [Pause…]

🔥Can you feel the heat?

Of course, the heat you are feeling could be menopausal … but, more likely than not, it's your nervous system warning: ⚠️“Danger ahead.”

Listen First name / my dear creator,  you can tell any story about yourself.

So why are you walking around telling that story.

You know the one.

It's pre-set to play your Greatest Hits sound track:

“I'm a Fraud. 🎶I'm a Looser. 🎼I'm a Failure. 🎵I'm not Good Enough.”

Sister, I know you. 

I know you have braved the fires of fear before.  

I know you have chosen to take risks when it felt terrifying.  I know you have a volcano of desire burning in your heart. 

[Pause . . .]

Take a deep breath.

Turn toward the heat.

Stand right there, in the space between who you are today and who you are longing to become.

Tell me that story.  

Creativity comes alive when there is friction. 

The uncomfortable push and pull of internal forces of fear and longing.

As soon as you feel into that discomfort . . . you will find something more true and more powerful than what your fear wants you to know. 

“I don't have enough time, enough money, enough freedom.”  Is that your whole story?  I don't think so. 

It's in the turning toward the fire burning at the center of your old story, that makes change possible.

Let go of that old playlist.

Let in what wants to come. . . 

[Pause . . . ] 

You can feel your future, can't you?

It's calling you to tell a new story about what you will create.  

I feel the heat too!
